Fashion and Women’s Changing Lives in the 19th Century

From the Romantic to Victorian Era

Time travel with us to peek into the closets of 19th Century Valhalla. From school attire at the Patapsco Female Institute to soirees and parties, the girls and women who lived here wore elaborate layers below and intricate styles above. Models and mannequins will enliven our discussion of fashion in the 19th Century and its significant influence on women’s lives.

Lissa shares her involvement from the earliest days from the perspective of a seasoned veteran of the hard work and expense designers put forth to bring their rooms to life. Connie, a past President of HEC, Inc., has been closely involved with Show Houses for decades as co-chair, promoter and sponsor coordinator.

A Black Ankle representative will discuss each wine and help educate attendees. Experience wines created to express the unique flavors and atmosphere of the land on which they are grown. Wines listed for the tasting are 2024 Sauvignon Blanc 530, 2023 Rolling Hills and 2023 Crumbling Rock.
