HEC’s 2019 Revitalization Grant Program Recipients

Jun 8, 2019 | Preservation Projects

Proceeds from our 2018 Show House were made available to provide direct assistance for the rehabilitation and preservation and promotion of cultural resources within the Ellicott City National Register Historic District and the surrounding area in Howard County.

HEC partnered with Preservation Maryland to create and fund the Historic Ellicott City Revitalization Grant Program. This grant cycle, the recipients are:

Old Stone Tavern – To help fund a project to flood-proof windows and doors.

Patapsco Heritage Greenway – To support the production of a video for the 250th anniversary of Ellicott City. The video would highlight lesser known stories in Ellicott City and highlight historic places throughout the area.

Howard County Historical Society – For funds to repair roof in lobby area of museum that was damaged.

Preservation MD for their Ellicott City Jail Project – A contribution toward a “conditions assessment” for the reuse of the historic jail.
